When we attended the preview of his filmfest entry, “Honor Thy Father”, at the Dolphy Theatre, we personally confirmed that JL is telling the truth that they have not broken up. Angelica was there inside the theatre, patiently waiting for him to sit beside her while JL was being interviewed by some people and was later called in front with Director Erik Matti and the rest of his co-stars in the movie.
JL is very proud of “Honor Thy Father” and stresses that he’s glad that when he finally joined the Metro-Manila Filmfest, it’s with an entry like this where he was deglamorized in his role as a man pushed against the wall and has to fight for the safety of his wife and daughter. Aside from this, JL has completed another serious movie, the indie flick from Lav Diaz entitled “Hele sa Hiwagang Hapis” where he co-stars with Piolo Pascual, Sid Lucero, Alessandra de Rossi, Cherie Gil, Angel Aquino and Ely Buendia.
