“I’ve always believed in the project,” says the Regal matriarch. “Maganda ang concept ni Director Jun Lana at maganda rin ang execution niya sa buong movie. Well crafted. At may sarili nang followers si Janella at ang leading men niyang sina Marlo Mortel at Jerome Ponce kaya confident akong tatagal sa sinehan ang ‘Haunted Mansion’.”
Some observers say ABS-CBN may now be having second thoughts about pairing Janella with a new leading man, Elmo Magalona, with whom she’d first do an episode in “Wansapanataym” before they start their teleserye next year, “Born for You”. It seems her fans have already accepted Janella's pairing with Marlo and Jerome and they might be alienated by the decision to pair her with Elmo. Some people can't believe about Janella's movie trouncing Kris Aquino's entry in the box office.
“Biruin mo, si Janella Salvador na newbie, tinalo ang entry ni Kris Aquinong ‘All You Need is Pag-ibig’ na number 4 lang,” says one kibitzer. “It shows na mas malakas pa rin talaga ang hatak ng horror movies kung Pasko. Alam ni Kris yan dahil lahat ng horror movies niya sa filmfest from ‘Dalaw’, ‘Segunda Mano’ at ‘Feng Shui’, puro topgrosser. Ngayong gumawa siya ng romantic comedy kahit si Derek Ramsay pa ang kapareha niya, hindi ganoon kalakas. Hindi mabe-blame si Derek dahil kahit kasama siya sa movie, hindi siya pinag-promote at all. Ni hindi siya pinag-attend ng kahit isang presscon, buti pa ang co-stars niyang sina Ian Veneracion at Xian Lim. Hindi rin nag-work ang pagbatikos na naman ni Kris sa ex-husband niyang si James Yap bago mag-showing ang movie para umingay ang pelikula. Kasi naman, ‘All You Need is Pag-ibig’ ang title, tapos inaaway naman niya ang ama ng junakis niya.”
