Rafael feels honored to renew his ties with GMA and he’s looking forward to more productive years of working with them. “I’m not just honored but also grateful because they keep trusting me with different projects. Alagang-alaga ako dito and I don’t doubt the brightness of my future dito sa GMA,” he says.
About his lovelife, Rafael confesses that he’s unattached at the moment. He and his model GF named Olivia broke up because the girl is the “selosa” type who resents it when he does kissing scenes on screen. They also have different political views. “But we parted as friends naman,” he says. “Focus muna ako sa career ko ngayon.”
In “Because of You”, he plays Carla Abellana’s groom who changes his mind about marrying her when they’re already in front of the altar and about to exchange I do’s. “My character, si Oliver, got cold feet and realized he’s not yet ready for the responsibilities of marriage. But later on, he’d change his mind again and court Carla again, but this time, may karibal na siya kay Gabby Concepcion who helped Carla when she had an accident after I dumped her on our wedding day. We’re all rejoicing kasi ang ganda ng feedback sa show. Viewers like it for being a light, feel good story na maraming hilarious comic touches.”
