But Vice had a way of making a revealing answer: “Ayoko na lang magsalita kasi ayoko namang manggaling sa akin na oo, he’s in a relationship.”
Writers quickly presumed that Vice is referring to Coco’s long rumored relationship with Julia Montes, which he has yet to admit. In turn, Coco hinted that Vice is indeed in a relationship with a basketball player. Vice is currently very close to the UAAP winning team from FEU, but Coco wouldn’t reveal who among its varsity players is Vice’s special someone.
Their friendship started even before they joined showbiz. “Sing-along master ako noon at kinuha akong host sa Christmas Party ng Max,” Vice recalls. “Waiter siya noon sa Max and when I asked for an employee na guwapo para makasama ko on stage, siya ang itinuro ng mga kasamahan niya and, in fairness, ang gwapo nga. Kaso, ang suplado, ayaw sumama sa’kin, so nainis ako sa kanya. But it turned out friends ko yung mga pinsan niya at naging magkaibigan din kami. Nag-abroad siya. Nag-janitor sa Canada. Then noong bumalik siya, nag-artista na at nagkita kami uli sa showbiz na. Sobrang personal ang friendship namin. May things na hindi namin mase-share sa iba, pero kaya naming i-share sa isa’t isa. Mahal namin ang isa’t isa, pero walang malisya, ha.”
In “Beauty and the Bestie”, Vice plays Ericka, a gay photographer, and Coco is Emman, a special agent. Vice looks like the missing contestant, Miss Uzeklovakla, in the Miss Uniworld pageant being held in Manila. To prevent a war between the two countries, Vice accepts the mission of posing as the beauty queen and this throws him and Emman in the crazy world of beauty pageants and some rollicking misadventures.
The action comedy also stars the JaDine love team of James Reid and Nadine Lustre, plus child actors Marco Masa and Alonzo Muhlach, Badj Martiz, Karla Estrada, Ryan Bang and Lassy, with Wenn Deramas directing
