Its trailer was shown at the special midnight screening of “Haunted Mansion” and the audience was really laughing at the antics of Kiray and Derek, who surely make an unlikely combination. The conceit of the film is that when Derek looks at her, he does not see her as Kiray but as the sultry and sexy Solenn Heussaff.
There’s one funny scene where she tells Kiray: “You’re so hot!” Solenn is in front of him but the people around him are wondering why he said that because it’s Kiray who’s actually with him. The storyline is quite reminiscent of the Farrelly Brothers comedy, “Shallow Hal”, where Jack Black sees the very fat Gwyneth Paltrow as someone who’s so sexy. Let’s see if Director Laxamana (who did acclaimed indie films “Babagwa” and “Magkakabaung”) will succeed in pulling off this kind of oddball comedy in his first attempt at comedy and mainstream filmmaking.
