“Wala akong naririnig,” he laughs. “Ganyan talaga kami magbiruan niyan. Sa pictorial pa lang ng show, actually, ni-remind ko siyang contemporaries kami. Sabay pa ngang nanganak si Sharon at si Rhea (his former wife) sa mga panganay namin sa Makati Medical Center.”
How did he feel when Gabby became Carla’s leading man? “Okay sa’kin kasi si Gabby, mabait yan, edukado. Okay naman sa’kin kahit sinong makapareha ng anak ko. Hindi ako nag-aalala. Silang dapat mag-alala sa’kin kapag hindi maganda ang treatment nila sa anak ko.”
So he approves of Carla’s rumored romance with Tom Rodriguez? “I trust my daughter. She’s smart, she knows better. It’s her choice at maingat naman yan.”
This week, the rivalry of Gabby as Jaime and Rafael Rosell as Oliver over the attention of Carla as Andrea becomes more intense. Gabby punches Rafael for being impolite to Carla. Rafael ends up in jail and Carla tells him all she can offer to him is just friendship. As for Gabby, he tells Carla that he has no intention at all of patching things up with his former wife, Valerie Concepcion as Veronica. Does this mean that the love affair between Gabby and Carla is about to bloom in full? Let’s wait and see.
