MOTHERHOOD becomes Cristine Reyes. Writers interviewing her at the presscon of her comeback movie, “Lumayo Ka Nga sa Akin”, notice how more beautiful she has become now that she’s so happy being a mom, and how more open and pleasant she is while being interviewed. Even the director of her episode, “Asawa ni Marie” in the trilogy, Chris Martinez, says she’s much more okay now than when they did “The Gifted”.
“She’s definitely nicer now at mas madaling katrabaho kasi pagdating niya sa set, she’s really prepared na at mas may focus na,” he says.
Their episode spoofs soap operas and there’s this scene where she and co-star Antoinette Taus have to exchange slaps, several times. “Totoo lahat yang sampalan namin doon, ha,” she says. “Kasama rin namin dito sina Paolo Ballesteros, Jackielou Blanco and Jayson Gainza.”
She really focused on her pregnancy and took a leave from showbiz for a while. “Talagang tumigil ako sa pagtatrabaho kasi ninamnam ko yung sarap ng feeling na may baby kang dinadala sa loob ng tiyan mo, which is really miraculous and the true essence of being a woman. Feeling ko, mas nagkaroon ng kahulugan at kabuluhan ang buhay ko now that I’m a mom. Di gaya noon na sarili ko lang ang iniisip ko. Now, I think of my daughter Amarah’s future. 10 months old na siya at naisasama nang mamasyal, mag-shopping.”
She and partner Ali Kathibi will have a simple Christian wedding on January 27. “Very private. Kami lang, the pastor and some witnesses. We might have a bigger wedding later with our other relatives and friends kapag settled na kami.”
Aside from “Lumayo Ka Nga sa Akin”, she’s also busy taping a new soap, “Tubig at Langis”, with Zanjoe Marudo and Isabelle Daza. Her husband also signed a managerial contract with Viva. “Ilalagay raw siya sa Viva Sports, pero pinakuha rin siya ng acting workshop, so we’ll see. Pero sa totoo lang, natatakot ako, kasi super selosa ako, e maraming temptations sa showbiz. But the way I know him, I trust him enough.”
