As usual, television is busier than mainstream movies.
The first show introduced in 2015 was “Second Chances” with Jennylyn Mercado. Other GMA-7 shows during the year are: “Kailan Ba Tama ang Mali?”, “Pari Koy”, Sabado Badoo”, “The Rich Man’s Daughter” (originally starrring Marian Rivera, but she got pregnant so she resigned and was replaced by Rhian Ramos), “Let the Love Begin”, “Healing Hearts”, “My Mother’s Secret”, “Beautiful Strangers”, “My Faithful Husband”, “Relasyon”, “Marimar”, “Buena Familia”, “Sunday Pinasaya”, “Princess in the Palace”, “Destiny Rose”, “CelebriTV” (replacing the long-running “Startalk”), “Juan Tamad”, “Little Nanay”, “Because of You”.
The first new show of ABS-CBN was “Oh My G” with Janella Salvador in the morning, followed by “Flordeliza”, “Nasaan Ka Nang Kailangan Kita” in the afternoon and “Bridges of Love” on primetime. “Your Face Sounds Familiar” (Season 1, where Melai Cantiveros won, was such a hit that they quickly came up with Season 2, not as successful, with Denise Laurel as winner.) “Yamashita’s Treasure” with Coco Martin. “Nathaniel” with new child actor Marco Masa. The remake of “Pangako Sa’Yo”. “Pasion de Amor”. “On the Wings of Love”. “All of Me”. “Doble Kara”, “Celebrity Playtime”.
TV5 shows: “2& ½ Dads”, “Rising Stars”, “Solved na Solved”, “Happy Wife Happy Life”, “Healing Galing”, “Move It”, “Baker King”, “LolaBasyang.Com”, “No Harm No Foul”, “ParangNormalActivity”, “Kispinoy” (a short lived talent search that was cut short when the Korean producers ran out of money), “Misterless Misis” (also short lived), “My Fair Lady”, “Kano Luvs Pinay”. A big overhaul is now faced by TV5 after their entertainment department was dissolved and program content is now handled by Viva’s Vic del Rosario as chief strategist. Their first offering for the new year is a search for new singer, “Born to be a Star”, to be hosted by Ogie Alcasid.
