Golden Couple Donna Villa And Carlos Caparas Say That Richard Gutierrez Is Their Personal Choice In The Title Role Of 'Ang Panday'

THE GOLDEN COUPLE, Donna Villa and Direk Carlo Caparas of Golden Lion Films, were present at the grand presscon of TV5’s version of “Ang Panday” and they were in a generous mood as they raffled off thousands upon thousands of cash prizes to the writers who attended the affair. When asked about the changes in the new “Panday”, Direk Carlo says it will have a back story.

“It will be revealed that Flavio is a foundling,” he says. “Iniwan lang siya ng kanyang ina sa simbahan at magiging palaisipan din kung sino ang nagsilang sa kanya.”

Shades of Grace Poe who’s also a foundling, someone beside us commented.
“But the story will not only show his past but also his future,” he adds. “Mas malaki at malawak ang scope nitong latest TV version kasi it’s for today’s new generation of viewers. Hindi na confined si Flavio to some fantasy world in the past kundi makakarating siya sa modern times and it will be revealed na may kapatid pala siya.”

Is he happy with the casting of Richard Gutierrez in the lead role? “Oh yes. Noong iniisip pa lang ang project na ito, sabi ni Donna, wag kaming papayag na hindi kami konsultahin kung sino ang kukuning Flavio. And even then, sinasabi na naming ang gusto talaga namin, yung anak ni Annabelle Rama.”
