In “Dolce Amore”, she plays Serena, a girl who grew up in Italy and returns to Manila to look for the roots of her identity. She’s reunited with Enrique Gil as Tenten, a poor boy who she meets and falls in love with. Their love team has proven its drawing power in their previous soap, “Forevermore”, and in two hit films, “Just the Way You Are” and “Everyday I Love”. “I think viewers will love us more in ‘Dolce Amore’ as we were given the chance to experiment with our characters. Hindi lang ito pampakilig but tackles serious things about love and family relationships. Many scenes in the show were shot on location in Italy. We stayed there for almost two weeks at marami sa lines ko are in Italian so I have to prepare for them. Mother ko rito si Ms. Cherie Gil and I was surprised kasi she speaks fluent Italian. Yun pala, natira siya sa Venice with her family for many years so she learned the language. Kaya naman kapag nag-uusap kami in Italian, I make sure memoryado ko all my lines para maka-level up ako sa husay niya. This show will be memorable for me kasi nakapaglibot ako sa Rome, lalo na sa Vatican.”
So what’s the status of her relationship with Enrique at this point? “We’re very close, as friends. Hindi pa siya makaakyat ng formal na ligaw kasi nga he has to wait until I’m of the right age.”
She also enjoyed working with Matteo Guidicelli who plays her Italian friend secretly in love with her. “First time namin to work together. Siya ang nakaeksena ko sa Italy and not Enrique. Ang dami niyang naitulong sa’kin while we’re taping in Italy, lalo na in the right pronunciation of my Italian lines kasi nga half-Italian siya.”
