Recently, at the Trinity University of Asia Media Awards, they won as best male and female advertisers (actually, they’re advertising models not advertisers) and this is justified since they’re now the most sought after celebrity endorsers. Sometimes, their TV ads appear one after another. Maine of “Eat Bulaga” has even replaced Vice Ganda of their rival show as the endorser of CDO Funtastyk Young Pork Tocino, which is so amazing for Maine since she’s just been in showbiz for eight months but so many advertisers already bank and believe on her drawing power.
But AlDub fans complained because Maine is the solo endorser of Funtastyk Young Pork Tocino and they were looking for Alden. The thing is, they’re not hired on a package deal. Meng chooses meticulously the products that she’d endorse.
“I want to be sure why, sa dami ng puedeng kunin, they chose me,” she says. “Then, I want to be sure that the products I endorse are of the highest quality as I know that as an endorse will affect people’s choice. Ayoko namang basta tanggap lang ng tanggap. Sa CDO, I saw it as another blessings and opportunity for me kasi bago pa ako mag-showbiz I really eat na their tocino kasi masarap talaga at walang salitre na food preservative, which is not healthy. But it’s not easy to yung TV ad nila, ha. Kasi ang daming emosyon required from me. Kailangan mong umarteng seryoso ka, fierce, heartbroken, but I was also able to express the real me, na kengkay and fun, so let’s have Funtastyk pa more.”
