ALDEN RICHARDS is very thankful to all his fans who flocked to Ynares Center in Antipolo last Friday to watch his concert, “Aldenvasion”, that his detractors predicted will be a flop. “I’m so happy sa suportang binigay sa akin ng fans ko,” says Alden. “Yung iba, galing pa sa mga probinsiya at dumayo lang sa Antipolo to watch the concert. I really didn’t expect that the concert will be this successful kasi never pa akong nagkaroon ng solo show. Kaya paglabas ko on stage at nakita ko kung gaano ko karami ang tao na punumpuno talaga ang venue, halos maiyak ako sa tuwa.”
There’s now an offer for him to take the show on tour all over the country, but he says he wants to study it first. “I need more time to prepare muna. Hindi biro-biro ang mag-concert, e.”
So what’s next for him? “Abangan nyo muna yung two-hour drama special na ginawa namin ni Maine Mendoza para sa Lenten offerings ng ‘Eat Bulaga’. Bukas na po yun ng tanghali, Holy Wednesday. Kasama namin diyan si Jake Ejercito in his first acting role. I play a pilot at si Maine naman, flight attendant. Nagpapasalamat din po pala ako sa lahat ng mga nanood ng mag-guest ako sa ‘That’s My Amboy’. Ang ganda rin ng feedback doon.”
How about the reported solo movie for his love team with Maine? “Pinaplano na po. Nakikipag-meeting kami sa management pero wala pang mga detalye kung what will be the story o sino mga makakasama namin. Before this pala, pupunta po ako sa Canada to do a concert with Rocco Nacino and Kim Idol. So abangan nyo kami diyan sa Canada. Bale doon na kami aabutin ng Easter.”
