LAARNI ENRIQUEZ started in showbiz when she joined the search for Miss Tondo Girl of Jesse Ejercito’s Seven Star Productions in the early 80s. She didn’t win but she became a favorite leading lady of various action stars. “FPJ was getting me to do a movie with him, kaya lang, he wanted me to stay sa Ilocos for one month sa set,” she recalls. “But I was doing two other movies na hindi ko puedeng iwanan, so he’s the only top action star I didn’t get to work with.”
Her acting career was cut short when she did “Bangkang Papel sa Dagat ng Apoy” with Mayor Erap in 1984. Nag-apoy talaga sila and they now have three kids: Jerika, Jake and Jacob (who’s now studying in the USA.) Is it true her relationship with Jaclyn got strained because she didn’t approve of Andi for Jake?
“We used to be so close pero hindi na kami ngayon nagkikita. Basta whatever happens, I just wish them all the best.”
