“Maganda ang show kasi it’s more of comedy than drama,” she says. “Excited ako kasi maganda yung role ko as a businesswoman named Rita na sobrang taray at istrikta sa mga tauhan niya, then biglang naghirap kaya this is a riches to rags story.”
For her role as the domineering boss, she says she tried Meryl Streep’s portrayal of the Vogue editor in “The Devil Wears Prada” to be her peg. “Ambisyosa ba? Sana, ma-carry ko naman. Yun bang nakakatakot without even raising her voice, yung nakukuha mga tao sa paligid niya sa tingin-tingin lang. Of course, I’m not Meryl Streep dahil kahit kuko yata niya, malayo ako. But peg lang naman siya ng character ko, di ko naman gagayahin nang buong-buo.”
She requested Starstruck VI First Prince Elyson de Deios and First Princess Ayra Mariano to be part of her new show. “Hiniling ko talaga na I want them to be in this project kasi naging part naman ako ng journey nila as a judge sa Starstruck. I find them so cute and I know yung love story nila ang aabangan dito sa show. So thankful naman ako sa GMA na pinagbigyan ako sa request ko for them.”
Supporting Regine in “Poor Senorita” are Mikael Daez, Snooky Serna, Jaya, Ervic Vijandre, Jillian Ward, Miggs Cuaderno and Zymic Jaranilla. But what if she gets pregnant again in the course of doing this new show? It’s a possibility, so will history itself for Regine?
