CHERRY PIE PICACHE gives a tour de force portrayal of a Janet Napoles character in “Whistleblower”. She sizzles in her scenes as the despotic scammer who ruthlessly slaps people who displease her. Among her victims are Nora Aunor and Ina Feleo. But later on, she looks so pitiful when she got arrested and all her corrupt activities were exposed in public.
“It’s really an honor to be part of this movie,” she says. “Nagpapasalamat ako kay Tony Gloria ng Unitel at kay Direk Adolf Alix for getting me for the role of Lorna Valera, one of the most demanding parts I’ve ever played. I’m also proud to get the chance to work with Ate Guy, na pumayag magpasampal sa akin. Totoo yung sampal ha. Hindi daya, kaya panay ang sorry ko sa kanya after the take. Actually, we’ve worked before, pero sa TV lang, sa ‘Bituin’ ng ABS-CBN years ago. First namin to do a movie dito sa ‘Whistleblower’. Ang bigat ng casting ng movie namin dahil kasama rin dito sina Laurice Guillen, Angelica Panganiba, Celeste Legaspi, Ricky Davao, Liza Lorena, Barnardo Bernardo, at marami pang magagaling na artista.”
What’s her most memorable scene with Ate Guy? “Yung dalawa lang kami sa basement. Abangan nyo talaga yun. Walang masyadong dialogue si Ate Guy. Tapos, tumingin lang siya sa akin. Siempre, ako, in character as Lorna pero, sa subconscious ko, na-feel ko talaga pagtingin niya sa’kin: yun oh, si Ate Guy. Kasi siya, yung mata niya, sa mata pa lang, dala ka na. Those are moments or encounters with your co-stars that you will never forget. After her, dream kong makatrabaho naman si Ate Vi and kung puede, si Ms. Lolita Rodriguez at okay na ako.”
Pie came to the preview of “Whistleblower” with her 13-year old son, Neo Tria and she’s so proud of him as he’s a tennis champion. “He compete in the International Tennis Federation in Vietnam recently at sinamahan ko siya. Nakakatuwa kasi nag-champion sila sa doubles. It’s unexpected kasi laging Korea, China at India ang nananalo. But in that event, they won. Next month, he’ll compete naman in Thailand at sasamahan ko siya. Kapag nanalo siya, he’ll be qualified to compete sa World Junior Tennis in Europe later.
