Jackie plays Lucille, the childhood friend of Gabby as Jaime, who returns from London with her son, Avery Paraiso as Chandler. Avery is a promising newcomer who was discovered from the last Starstruck.
Jackie is hellbent on destroying the ongoing wedding preparations of Gabby to Carla as Andrea since she desperately wants to get Gabby back for herself since she claims to be his first love. In turn, her son Avery becomes a threat to the young love affair of Joyce Ching as Cheska, Gabby’s eldest daughter, to Kristoffer Martin as Onat.
Off cam, Jackie, who’s estranged from husband Ricky Davao, is currently being linked to Jomari Yllana, the ex of Aiko Melendez who also romanced Pops Fernandez and Ara Mina. But we’re told they’re keeping a very low profile about it and want to be as discreet as possible.
What’s not to be doubted is the fact that Jackie’s performance as Lucille is obviously very effective as regular followers of “Because of You” are now annoyed and mad against her for being so “epal” in forcing herself to Gabby. “Binabasa ko nga ang mga comment sa akin sa internet at talagang maraming gigil na gigil sa pakikialam ko sa wedding nina Gabby at Carla,” she says. “Yung iba, pinababalik na yung character ko sa London dahil panggulo lang daw ako. Well, mag-abang lang sila dahil marami pa akong gagawing kamalditahan sa story.”
This week, Carla wants to have a simple wedding but Jackie insists that with Gabby’s stature, he deserves no less than a grand wedding and not a cheap one, making the wedding coordinator feel so confused. But Gabby says it’s Carla’s wedding and he wants to give her what she wants. Jackie also insists that she be chosen as a bridesmaid, along with Carla’s good friends Iya Villania and Vaness del Moral, but Carla herself chooses Joyce Ching. Meantime, Kristoffer Martin feels so insecure because he gave local ‘chocnuts’ as gift to Joyce, but his rival Avery has given her imported chocolates from Scotland no less.
