MIKAEL DAEZ is so proud over the good ratings and great feedback that his show with Regine Velasquez, “Poor Senorita”, is getting. And he’s also glad that the mini-series he shot on location in Cambodia, “Fight for Love (Blood in Dispute)”, will now be shown this Sunday on GMA’s Sunday Night Box Office for two consecutive weekends.
“Hindi ko makakalimutan itong ‘Fight for Love’ dahil sobrang nahirapan ako dito,” he says. “I had to learn the Cambodian martial arts called Bokator and it’s hard kasi masakit sa katawan. Sumabak ako sa training for six hours a day, seven days a week. My body was really hurting. But I’m happy I was able to prove na kaya pala ng katawan ko ang ganoon katinding training. Professional Bokator fighters trained me. Sila, they trained for years to harden their bones, muscles, entire bodies. Ako, one week lang. But it was worth it for me kasi nagamit ko ang itinuro nila in two major fight scenes na highlights ng show. It was really a good experience.”
In the story, he plays Marco, a martial artist with a Pinay mom and a Cambodian dad. He goes to Cambodia to fight without knowing the man he’ll be fighting with is his own half brother, played by Cambodian actor Khat Vaihang. Andrea Torres plays his girlfriend, Angela, who follows him to Cambodia to support him in his fights. “Fight for Love” starts airing tonight at 9 PM after “Kapuso Mo Jessica Soho” and will have its exciting conclusion next Sunday, also 9 PM.
