JACLYN JOSE has all the looks of a winner. She returned to Manila from France last Tuesday afternoon and went straight to GMA-7 for the presscon of her new show, “A1 Ko Sa’yo!” After winning the Cannes Filmfest best actress award in the dramatic title role of “Ma Rosa”, she now proves her versatility in GMA-7’s newest sex-comedy, “A1 Ko Sa’yo!” She will play Digna Molina, a frustrated beauty contest aspirant who now manages a talent company searching for the next Miss Universe. This will start airing on June 2.
Does she agree to the proposal of some quarters that a motorcade be held for her?
Jaclyn says the Cannes trip brought her closer to her daughter, Andi Eigenmann, as they had great bonding with each other. It will be recalled there was a time when they were not talking to each other even if they live in the same house. Andi didn’t like it when Jaclyn made a comment about her colorful love life.
“Sa Cannes, talagang nanumbalik ang closeness namin kasi iba yung experience that you’re traveling together,” she says.
What did she feel at the moment her name was called as best actress winner? “When I heard Jaclyn, di pa nag-sink agad sa’kin kasi marami namang Jaclyn, e. At ang pronunciation is Zhaclyn. Pero nang idugtong yung Jose, dun, I was really so surprised, overwhelmed, parang nawala ako sa sarili. Different talaga yung feeling, unexplainable. No exact words nga to describe it. Hindi talaga ako umasa kasi alam kong ang bibigat ng mga kalaban ko. I was just there to enjoy the night. Tapos, sinasabi nila, international actress na ako. First time daw may manalong Cannes best actress from Southeast Asia. Maraming salamat kay Lord.”
Meantime, Jaclyn continues to sizzle as Stella, the daughter of Robert Arevalo who’s determined to make life hell for her young stepmom, Andrea Torres as Louisa in the widely followed afternoon soap, “The Millionaire’s Wife”. She is jubilant when Robert and Andrea have a big fight because Robert got jealous of James Blanco as Mark, who has broken up with Ina Raymundo as Allison. He plans to make Andrea and her son Ronron to live abroad, but Andrea doesn’t want to leave the country. Jaclyn sides with her and helps her escape. They hide in a hotel but Robert manages to track them down and has a heart attack so Andrea is forced to take him to a hospital. Andrea takes care of him but he becomes blind. Jaclyn and her son Sid Lucero as Jared continue to maltreat Andrea. Robert realizes that it’s not true that Andrea is unfaithful to her, they reconcile, but he also learns that his life will soon end because of his illness.
