Didn’t Dennis have second thoughts doing the sexy daring scenes he does not just with Heart but other actresses in the series? “Not really,” he says. “Kasi okay naman ang treatment, may kapilyuhan but we don’t cross the line. Approved naman lahat ng naughty scenes ng MTRCB. Maraming matututuhan ang married couples na manonood on how they can prolong their excitement with each other as husband and wife, para hindi sila magkasawaan agad sa isa’t isa at maging habambuhay na talaga ang pagsasama nila.”
In real life, we all know Heart has a happy love story with hubby Sen. Chiz Escudero. As for Dennis, would he say he also has one happy love story with Jennylyn Mercado? “I don’t know. Depende siguro kung ano ang magiging ending. Basta as of now, okay naman siya. Happy naman ako, kami. Everybody happy. So can he say that love is really lovelier for him and Jen the second time around? “I think so, palagay ko. Mas masaya kami ngayon. Dahil mas kilala na namin ang isa’t isa. Plus factor yun, e.”
So he doesn’t get jealous that Jen is romancing various leading men in her movies? “Naku, pareho kaming matagal nang artista. So yung mga ganyan, hindi na problema yan for us. Basta nagiging masaya lang kami sa nagiging success ng career ng bawat isa. Yun ang mas importante kaysa mga selos-selos. I’m really happy nakagawa na siya ng movie sa Star Cinema.”
Do we see them walking down the aisle to face the altar soon? “Naku, seryosong bagay ang marriage at kailangan, pareho na kayong desidido at sigurado. At this point, we’re both just enjoying being together. Hindi naman kailangang magmadali. Basta tahimik ang mundo namin at okay na yung hindi kami masyadong pinagpipiyestahan.”
Dennis celebrated his 35th birthday on May 12. What’s his birthday wish? “Sana, maraming manood ng ‘Juan Happy Love Story’ para mag-hit ito, dahil pinaghirapan talaga namang pagandahin ang aming show. I didn’t accept any movie project while taping this as I want to give it my full focus and attention.”
