The show’s trailer viewed at the press conference has many sequences showing Gina Alajar, as Louise’s oppressive aunt, pulling her hair and hitting her. “Kulang pa yun, medya-medya pa lang ang nagawa ko, kasi ingungudngod ko pa siya sa inidoro,” Gina jokes. “Naaawa nga ako kay Louise kasi very physical ang mga eksena namin at lagi ko siyang nasasaktan. Pero okay lang lahat sa kanya. Kahit feeling ko nasaktan ko siya, kapag tinanong ko, she’d say hindi po, okay lang po. Very professional talaga.”
In the story, Louise is the daughter of Assunta de Rossi and Gabby Eigenmann, Gina’s younger brother. Gina engineers the death of Gabby and the imprisonment of Assunta. She then treats Louise like Cinderella, making her a housemaid maltreated not only by her but also her two daughters, Isabelle de Leon and Liezel Lopez. Louise then finds comfort in her friendship with a dwarf who lives inside a ‘punso’, Juancho Trivino as Elfino. Does she belief that dwarves do exist in real life? “We used to live in Cavite and the old people there would say when they see a punso, tabi-tabi po, kasi raw may nuno na nakatira sa loob noon. Pero wala naman akong nakita at all. At wala akong planong makakita at baka matakot lang ako.”
Does she think Juancho is deserving to be given a break as her leading man? “Dati na kaming friends ni Juancho. We’ve never worked together in a show pero nagkakasama kami sa events ng GMA and we even ran together sa UP oval a couple of times. Okay naman siya. When we started taping ‘Magkaibang Mundo’, nag-jibe agad ang mga ugali namin on and off camera.”
She was the first leading lady of Alden Richards in “Alakdana”, “One True Love” and “Mundo Mo’y Akin”. Alden is such a big star now and has found a new partner in Maine Mendoza. She gets bashed by Aldub fans each time she’s linked anew to Alden. How does she feel about it?
“First of all, I’m happy for the success of Alden. Pero two years nang magkahiwalay ang careers namin, so hindi ko alam why I’m still being bashed by his fans. Hindi ko na lang pinapansin kahit nasasaktan ako. Now that I’m given a new love team with Juancho, siguro naman titigilan na nila ako.”
