It’s Divina Valencia who brought the house down with her comic antics. She has the most hilarious quips and jokes. We tell her we didn’t know she’s a good comedian. Someone should get her to do comedy for her next project as she can be truly and effortlessly funny. We remember the first movie she did with Sampaguita then, “Sabado ng Gabi, Linggo ng Umaga”, which was a big blockbuster.
Edward is the youngest of Manay Ichu and Sen. Ernesto Maceda’s five sons. The eldest is Emmanuel who’s now based in the USA, followed by Ernesto Jr. (who’s married to Rica, Manay Ichu’s most amiable daughter in law), Erwin and Edmond. Edward has a journalism degree from UP then finished law at the Ateneo (with honors). He has been a councilor for six terms, 1995 to 2004, then 2007 to 2016.
He’s the brains behind giving free movie tickets to Manila’s senior citizens, also giving them a cash gift of P500 on their birthday, free medical services at six Manila hospitals, and many other benefits for Manilenos. He’s now running as congressman for the 4th district and he’s advocating giving free education for everyone to help improve their lot in life.Present at the Sampaguita Gardens affair is Edward’s fiancee, the beautiful dermatologist Dr. Gel Lazaro. They intend to officially tie the knot next year. They look good together and this early, our best wishes and congratulations to the both of them. Also present at the affair is Manay Ichu’s youngest sister, Lilibeth “Betchay” Vera Perez-Nakpil, who’s also busy helping her nephew, Christopher de Venecia (son of Manay Gina) who’s also running for congress in Pangasinan.
