Elmo Magalona Admits There's Lot Of Pressure On Him And Janella Salvador With Their First Team Up But Confident Viewers Will Like 'Born For You'

ELMO MAGALONA says he has no regrets moving from GMA-7 to ABS-CBN as he’s very pleased with his first project as a Kapamilya, “Born for You”, which replaces “Story of Us” on June 20. “This is the biggest project I’ve done as we’ve shot many scenes for three weeks in Japan,” he says. “I’m also lucky to be paired with Janella Salvador in her first primetime romantic teleserye. She’s one of the most beautiful, most talented and humble leading ladies I’ve met and it’s a blessing na siya ang partner ko for my first show on ABS. For our music video, they got no less than David Pomeranz himself, who composed the song ‘Born for You’, to sing it with a new arrangement and it's an honor that we even appear with him at the ending of the music video.”

Janella says it’s not impossible for her to like Elmo as he’s very much a gentleman and they can relate well with each other as they both love music. She has never had a boyfriend but, as we all know, Elmo is currently in a relationship with Janine Gutierrez, with whom he was paired in some Kapuso dramas. Won’t this be a problem for prospective fans of “Born for You” who might wish that he and Janella would really be on even off cam?

“I believe in what Janella and me can offer in portraying our roles at sana yun ang makita ng viewers,” says Elmo. “Siempre, we both feel the pressure kasi nga bago ang aming love team and we’re paired with other ka-love teams before. But we’re confident na magugustuhan ng tao ang story ng ‘Born for You’ which is based on the Japanese folklore saying na lahat tayo, may red string of destiny which connects us to a loved one na siya talagang nakatakda para sa atin. Magagaling rin ang mga kasama namin dito, sina Vina Morales, Bernard Palanca, Ariel Rivera and Ayen Laurel as our parents."

While he’s paired with Janella, his GF Janine is now paired with Aljur Abrenica in “Once Again”. Don’t they get jealous of each other? “No. Wala kaming conflict pagdating sa aming respective careers. Walang selosan, We support each other. We've accepted that what we do on screen with other partners is just part of our work. Alam ko namang si Janella was also paired with another guy before (Marlo Mortel) but we’re hoping they’ll give us a chance naman ni Janella in our roles as Sam and Kevin in ‘Born for You’.”
