Janice De Belen Does Lesbian Love Scene With Liza Dino Seguerra In 'Ringgo, The Dog Shooter', A World Premieres Filmfest Entry

ONE OF THE entries in the coming World Premieres Filmfest starting June 29 is “Ringgo, the Dog Shooter”, written by Ricky Lee and directed by Rahyan Carlos, with Sandino Martin in the title role. Rahyan is the head of Star Magic’s acting classes, conducting workshops to develop their stars using the style of well known Hollywood acting expert Ivanna Chubbuck. He has also directed both movies and TV shows. He got the idea for “Ringgo” when he met Lester Zapanta, a dog whisperer who calmed his dog after it bit someone. Lester is also a dog shooter, one who holds the sex organ of a male dog and shoots it into the female dog’s organ to make sure no dog semen will be wasted

“I’m a dog lover so I want to impart the message na ang mga aso, di dapat sinasaktan as they’re man’s best friend. I told the concept to Ricky Lee and, in one week, he finished the whole script,” he says. “Kumapal na yung story kasi aside from the story of a dog, played by a German shepherd called Inca, naging story na rin ito ng isang boy, si Ringgo, who is an ampon and experiences love and care only when he meets Bong, a lesbian who breeds dogs played by Janice de Belen. It’s good we found a producer in Olive Oteyza who really wants to try producing local movies. Doon sa Bong, nahirapan ako mag-casting, until I sent the script to Janice de Belen at nagustuhan niya agad. And she’s perfect for the role kahit nahirapan siya dahil nilalagyan siya ng tattoo and may hot love scene nila ni Liza Dino Seguerra as the veterinarian na karelasyon niya. Mahirap din i-cast ang role ng Ringgo, kasi he’s 16 years old pero may love scene siya rito with newcomer Mycha Oteyza, so we don’t want to get someone na underaged. Then nag-audition si Sandino Martin. He’s 24 but sa screen test, he can manage to look like a teenager, so we got him. Mahirap din yung actual mating scenes ng mga aso kasi we have to wait for a female dog to be in heat. Hindi mo puedeng dayain. And we were shooting on location in Nagtahan Bridge at ilang beses kaming napaalis ng presidential guards. But it’s all worth it. I’m proud that the movie delivers the message of hope, na kahit gaano kahirap ang buhay, you should just keep on trying and never give up.”

“Ringgo” will have its gala premiere at SM North Edsa on July 1. It will be shown on SM North on July 3, Sun, 3 PM, and July 4, Mon, 3 PM, and at SM Megamall on July 6, Wed, and July 8, Fri, at 7 PM, and Sat July 9, 9 PM. It will be competing with 7 other films: Mel Chionglo’s “Iadya Mo Kami”, Ronaldo Bertubin’s “Ku’te,” Alvin Yapan’s “EDSA,” Sunshine Lichaucho and Suzanne Ricardonne’s “Curiosity, Adventure and Love,” and Rainier Brizuela’s “Memory Channel.” But this early, the prediction is that Janice and Sandino will win the best actress and best actor awards since their respective roles are both tour de force acting vehicles.
