“Mabait si Baron, magaling pang aktor,” says John. “Anak-anakan ko yan at marunong rumespeto yan. Kapag nakakainom lang, nagbabago siya. He just deserves guidance. He needs to be with the right people. Sana, wag niya masamain ang payo ko’t patunayan niyang mali ang mga tao sa palagay nila sa kanya. Sana mabigyan siya ng second chance dahil malayo pa ang mararating niya.”
A few months ago, John languished in the hospital due to kidney problems. “Inabuso ko ang katawan ko noon so lahat ng naging bad habits ko, so siningil ako. But okay na ako, salamat sa Diyos. Malakas na uli at heto, binigyan Niya ako ng chance para makapagbagumbuhay, makapagnegosyo.”

But of course, John remains to be active as one of our most reliable actors. On TV, he did teleseryes like “Juan de la Cruz” and “Dyesebel”. On the big screen, he plays the title role in the current horror flick, “Teniente Gimo”. How come we heard his producer, Kate Brios, and actor Roi Vinzon are fighting over “Teniente Gimo”? “Ay, hindi ko alam kung ano ang conflict nila. Basta kinuha lang akong artista roon at narinig ko na lang na may problema raw sila.”
How’s her mom, actress Ruby Regala? “Nasa America. Ten years na roon. Sabi ko nga, umuwi na siya rito at nang magkasama kami uli.”
How’s her dad, actor Mel Francisco? “Nasa Laguna, maraming anak, puro panganay, may bagong misis, 22 years old.”
