KRISTINE HERMOSA is four months pregnant and has previously given birth to two other kids but she still looks so much like a “dalaga” at the presscon of her first show on GMA-7, “Hay Bahay”, a sitcom that replaces “Vampire ang Daddy Ko” starting this Sunday night. How did she feel when she saw the trailer of “Hay Bahay” being shown on the air and she’s shown there now as a Kapuso?
“Wala namang problema maging Kapuso, it’s just a label,” she says. “When I saw it on TV, sabi ko, uy, bago ito para sa akin, and I felt it’s really time for a change. Matagal na akong walang kontrata sa ABS-CBN. Per project basis na lang ako sa kanila. But still, nagpaalam naman ako nang maayos kay Mr. M and kay Tita Mariole na I’ll do a show with Oyo and my father in law, at umokey naman sila.”
So why did she choose to do “Hay Bahay”? “Actually, maraming naging offers ang ABS, but I want something na I don’t have to sacrifice my time with my family so much at ayoko rin ng dramang puro iyakan. I want something light. E, dumating itong ‘Hay Bahay’ na comedy, which I’ve long wanted to do, at kasama ko pa mismo ang husband ko, si Oyo, and our dad (Vic Sotto), so tinanggap ko.
Also, mas madali itong gawin kaysa sa teleserye. As it is, nahirapan pa rin akong magpaalam sa mga anak namin, lalo na sa only girl namin, si Ondrea. Hindi kasi sila sanay na umaalis ako at iniiwan sila. Umiiyak siya, mama, don’t leave, so ako man, naiyak din. Hanggang sa taping, naiiyak pa ako. But this show is a blessing, so enjoyin na lang natin. I’ve worked with my father in law before in several ‘Enteng Kabisote’ movies so it’s not new to me. But working with Tita Ai Ai de las Alas, yun ang bago, first time namin to work together, and it’s another journey for me as I’m so excited to work with her. I know marami akong matututuhan sa kanya about doing comedy.”
