LUIS ALANDY is currently without a regular soap after he did “My Fair Lady” with TV5. “My manager, Noel Ferrer, says rest muna ako sa TV and puro movies muna ang gagawin ko.
He was nominated in the Urian Awards for his role as a soldier having an affair with a rebel woman in “Anino sa Likod ng Buwan”, which will get a wide release in theaters next month. He has also finished the AlDub movie, “Imagine Me and You” where he plays Maine Mendoza’s older brother. Also in the can is “Mandirigma”, an action film that’s a tribute to local soldiers, directed by Arlyn de la Cruz. He just wrapped up work for BG Productions “Siphayo”, where has sexy love scenes with Natalie Hart, who’s being launched in the film directed by Joel Lamangan.
We got to talk to Luis on the set of his newest film assignment, “Kusina”, an entry in the Cinemalaya Filmfest where he plays Judy Ann Santos’ lover. He’s excited working with Juday, of course. “First shooting day pa lang naman, sobrang galing na niyang katrabaho,” he says. “Mararamdaman mo talaga ang eksena as you will get carried away by her emotions.”
He’s also shooting three other new movies. First is “Kabisera” with Nora Aunor and Ricky Davao (“two shooting days pa kami”). He just started “Swipe” with Mark Herras and Mercedes Cabral for UP Film Center head Ed Lejano. All set to start soon is “Die Beautiful”, his reunion with Director Jun Lana of “Anino sa Likod ng Buwan” where he will play Paolo Ballesteros’ lover.
“I feel so blessed working with different directors and production groups as I learn so much from each of them,” he says.
Recently, he has formally proposed to his non-showbiz girlfriend named Joselle in Lake Tahoe. “Kaya nga panay ang kayod ko para makapag-ipon sa gagastusin namin sa wedding. We’re now planning everything step by step.”
He was previously linked to various showbiz girls, including Desiree del Valle, Tin Arnaldo, Alex de Rossi, Kat Alano and Bebs Hollman. What made him feel sure that Joselle is the one? “She has a very positive influence on me, lalo na sa pagiging Christian ko. People say bumait daw ako. We both come from big families. I’m the 3rd of 6 kids and 2nd siya of 4 kids. Kasundong-kasundo ko ang buong family niya.”
