TWO SINGLE MOMS are making a comeback in Star Cinema's “The Achy Breaky Hearts” and they both attended its presscon even if they only play short roles in the movie because ABS-CBN says they have big plans for both of them. These are Sarah Lahbati and Beauty Gonzales (product of Starstruck and PBB, respectively.)
In the movie, Sarah plays Ian Veneracion’s ex-girlfriend who broke his heart. She’s supposed to be part of the soap “Written in Our Stars” but this was shelved when Toni Gonzaga got pregnant.
“I’m still hoping na mayroong darating na bagong teleserye for me someday,” she says. “But as of now, I’m happy to be able to get the chance to work with Ian, Jodi Sta. Maria and Richard Yap in ‘Achy Breaky Heart’. Mababait sila. Also our director, Antoinette Jadaone. I’m in awe of her work kasi totoong-totoo ang emotions shown sa movies niya and I wish I could work with her again someday. At 22, I’m more inspired to work kasi I’ve become more mature now sa pananaw ko sa buhay.”
Off cam, Sarah is very happy with partner Richard Gutierrez and their son Zion, but she expressed her worry about Richard’s current hobby, which is riding on his expensive motorcycle and touring the country with his motorcycle friends. “Nagpunta na sila sa Sagada nang naka-bike and now, they’re in Mindoro. Nagro-RORO lang sila. I know he’s careful, but I can’t help but worry about him. Pareho kami ng mommy niya, si Tita Annabelle, na always praying for his safety.”
But Richard will now have to stay put for a while as their family’s show on E Channel, “It Takes Gutz to be a Gutierrez” will start airing its fourth season soon. He’s also doing a movie with Carlo Caparas and Viva is preparing a rom-com soon for him with a top actress.
