“The creative team of ‘Imagine You & Me’ headed by Direk Mike Tuviera really worked so hard on the project from conceptualization to actual location shoot for three weeks in the beautiful cities of Como and Verona in Italy,” says Alden. “They made sure that the whole movie is full of so much love, romance and bittersweet moments in each and every scene. Tiyak na lahat ng manonood nito can’t help but also fall in love all over again.”
Today’s hottest love team is beautifully photographed in the movie and viewers will feel the real emotions that Alden and Maine have for each other. “What you’ll see in us in the movie is what you’ll get,” says Maine. “Everything is real, genuine, natural lang po lahat.”
From the simple young lady from Santa Maria, Bulacan, who auditioned in “Eat Bulaga!” armed with nothing but her talent in dubsmash, Maine rose to popularity as Yaya Dub (Divina Ursula Bokbokoba), Lola Nidora’s (Wally Bayola) devoted nanny in the noontime show’s phenomenal Kalye Serye. Alden was already part of the EB Dabarkads when Maine joined “Eat Bulaga” but was just a regular host when his and Maine’s paths crossed in the now-famous Kalye Serye.
The rest, as they say, is AlDub history, a huge success the world over. The AlDub tandem also made Twitter record worldwide with the AlDub Nation fans registering more than 40 million tweets for Kalye Serye. Their special episode, ‘Tamang Panahon,” held at the Philippine Arena last year posted another record in terms of attendance, proceeds of which were used to finance AlDub libraries. They both become in demand as endorsers of various products.Now, the sensational pair is undoubtedly ripe for a launching movie. And so, APT Entertainment, GMA Films and M-ZET Television, Inc. have joined forces for “Imagine You & Me”, where Alden is Andrew, a heartbroken guy based in Italy while Maine is Gara, an overseas worker searching for Mr. Right. Andrew and Gara belong to two different worlds and have opposing views on love. In short, they are incompatible. Is there a chance for two people like Andrew and Gara to fall in love with each other?
