At the presscon of “Sinungaling Mong Puso”, Michael is asked how is it being directed by his former co-actor, Ricky Davao? “When the show was offered to me, tinanong ko nga, marunong ba yan?” he says. “Joke lang. I also direct but that doesn’t mean I don’t want to be directed by others anymore. In ‘Sinungaling Mong Puso’, I play the powerful Mayor Moises Aguirre, the father of Rafael Rosell who wants to hold on to power. Asawa ko rito si Glydel Mercado as Raquel, a trophy wife for me, and mistress ko si Stephanie Sol as Camilla.”
The character is quite complex and Direk Ricky Davao helped Michael in interpreting it. “Ricky is a big help para mas maging effective ako sa pagganap ko sa role ko. As an actor, my goal is to always come out with an honest performance. The role of a corrupt politician, nagawa ko na ng ilang beses. So the challenge this time is paano ko iibahin ang magiging atake ko. With this one, Direk Ricky inspired me to see a different color na hindi ko nakita before in interpreting my role, and I really loved it. It gave me more room to play with my role. I really enjoyed doing my character here kasi hindi siya one-dimensional.”
