RICHARD GUTIERREZ looks so handsome and dashing at the launch of “It Takes Gutz to be a Gutierrez”. He’s definitely oozing with more star quality than some of the younger leading men we have today. He truly deserves a successful comeback. Was he disappointed when his “Ang Panday” on TV5 didn’t hit it big?
“Yes, to be honest, I was frustrated with our timeslot. Usapan namin, the show will have a fixed time slot. But our time slot kept on moving, along with our airing days. Ako mismo as Panday, I didn’t know kung ipalalabas ba kami tonight, and at what time. We were putting so much hard work into the show and yet, di mo alam kung kailan kayo ipalalabas. My director, Mac Alejandre, and I just decided to focus on our work, talagang pagandahin na lang ang show despite the problems that we cannot control. Sayang nga, e. It’s also frustrating that the partnership between TV5 and Viva ended with a falling out. I was really excited about it, but it turned out to be short lived.”
So what are his plans now? “I have completed a new movie with Direk Carlo Caparas, ‘Miracles are Forever’, about the Mamasapano Massacre and hopefully, it will be shown in August. I have another movie project with Viva that we might start soon. On TV, don’t miss our family in Season 4 of ‘It Takes Gutz to be a Gutierrez’ on E Channel that will start on Monday, July 25. Mapapanood nyo rito ang baby namin ni Sarah, si Zion, who’s now 3 years old at sobrang daldal at kulit na. Gusto nang maging action star at nakikipag-wrestling with me. Abangan nyo rin si Mommy (Annabelle Rama) dito. Dahil si Steven Gilfeather na director namin ang lagi niyang kausap, ang galing na niyang mag-English at si Steven naman, ang galing na mag-Tagalog.”
