ROCCO NACINO has been without a regular show for quite sometime. His last soap was “Beautiful Strangers” last year yet. But he says his role as Aquil (originally played by Alfred Vargas) in the “Encantadia” requel is worth the long wait. “This is such a big project,” he says. “Epic in scope and scale, so I’m glad to be a part of it.”
It’s been sometime since he was last interviewed by the press, so the first thing asked of him is if it’s true that he and Lovi Poe have broken up. “Yes, obvious naman, e. But please don’t ask me anymore about the details about the breakup. Hindi na kailangang ikuwento pa. Siguro talagang hanggang doon na lang yun.”
Is it still painful? “Of course, mahirap mag-move on kasi minahal ko talaga yun. Sa lahat, ito yung pinakamalalim na relasyon ko.Yun ang masasabi ko. But I’m getting by. I just want to make it clear, there’s no third party involved. Hindi rin totoo yung lumabas na may naging problema sa pera dahil sa joint account namin. To begin with, wala kaming joint account. Maayos ang pagpapalaki sa’kin ng parents ko and I can be trusted when it comes to such things. I’m happy Lovi defended me kasi kilala naman niya ako at alam niyang walang katotohanan yun. Basta personal reasons ang dahilan, pero sa amin na lang yun. But it was good while it lasted. We had a good run. Plenty of good times, good memories. No regrets. I’m wishing her all the best. As of now, naka-focus ang attention ko sa ‘Encantadia’.”
He’s paired with Sanya Lopez as Danaya. Any chance their relationship might develop also off cam? “At this point, mahal ko yung apat na sang-gre, from Glaiza de Castro and Kylie Padilla to Gabbi Garcia and Sanya. Para kaming pamilya sa set. Lagi kaming masaya sa taping. Ang goal namin is mapaganda talaga ang show and win over the viewers to our side para subaybayan nila kami every night. Huwag muna nating pasukan ng romantic angle.”
