RUFFA GUTIERREZ says she’s very much puzzled by what happened to her recently when she passed out and doctors cannot find anything wrong about her. “They gave me a lot of tests like na-MRI pa ako, but it’s really weird as they cannot find anything,” she says. “Someone suggested I consult daw an espiritista kasi wala akong maalala sa mga nangyari sa akin and parang I was acting in a strange way. It’s really scary, and up to now, I’m still looking for a scientific explanation about what happened to me. In the meantime, panay muna ang dasal ko. Nakakatawa kasi nagsanga-sanga na ang kuwento. May nagsabi pang napo-possessed daw ako, sinasapian. Ano ba yun?”
Her daughters, Lorin, 12 years old, and Venice, 11, were presented at the presscon of “It Takes Gutz to be a Gutierrez” that will start airing on E Channel this coming Monday at 8 PM. “They’ll have more exposure and participation this time sa fourth season compared to the previous ones. Ganundin ang cousins nila, si Baby Zion and si Baby Aria, kasi the viewers are requesting to see more of them in the show.”
Did she contact her ex-husband Yilmaz Bektas after there was a terrorist bombing in Turkey, followed by an attempted coup? “Yes, I reached out to them and called them up para kumustahin sila. Siempre, matagal akong tumira doon and I’ve learned to love the place. It’s good okay naman daw sila and they’re not affected by all the gulo there.”
Even if she’s a single mom, Ruffa is able to raise her daughters well. “They’re both articulate and I want to send them to finish college in an Ivy League school,” she says.
Lorin says she wants to take up business and entrepreneurship, but she also wants to try showbiz and modeling. As for Venice, she’s inclined towards fashion design, but also wants to try singing and acting.
