ANNABELLE RAMA became emotional at the E Channel’s launch for “It Takes Gutz to be a Gutierrez, Season 5”. She cried unabashedly and one writer said, “Gusto yatang talbugan ang Cannes award winning performance ni Jaclyn Jose sa ‘Ma Rosa’.” We asked her if it’s true she has accepted Ruffa’s boyfriend, Jordan Mouyal, and she quickly said: “That’s a lie! “Mom, that’s not true,” says Ruffa. “She’s blaming me dahil sa lumang phone niya na hindi na nakakatanggap ng messages. And I invited you, but hindi ka sumasagot.”
Annabelle then started crying and revealed that Ruffa had a near death experience just last week. Ruffa lives with her daughters and brother Richard and his family in their White Plains home, while Annabelle is with Eddie in their Dasmarinas Village digs. At first, they won’t reveal the details of what happened and said E channel does not allow it, so you should just watch it in “It Takes Gutz to be a Gutierrez” that starts airing this coming Monday night at 8 PM.
But eventually, they did talk about it. It appears that Ruffa passed out and her daughters got so worried, called their Uncle Richard who tried to revive her, but she won’t respond at all so she was taken to St. Luke’s. Annabelle then followed to the hospital.
Sabi nga ng daughters niya, it’s very scary. Tuwing maaalala ko siya ngayon, I pray for her.”
Ruffa butts in at this point. “Mom, I’m so happy to know that you care naman pala for me. Basta abangan nyo sa ‘It Takes Gutz to be a Gutierrez’, nakunan nila what happened to me. It’s all there.”
How come it took so long before Season 4 is aired? “After Season 3, we thought that’s it. Tapos na. We ended on a high note kasi ang taas ng ratings namin. But anywhere we go, people ask us kung kailan daw ba ang new season. While I was in Hongkong, a big group of foreigners saw me, mga puti. Sabi, we watch your family’s show. Pag Pinoy, sanay na ako, e. But this one, foreigners, so bongga. Mga Irish pala sila.”
“Ako naman, sa Singapore airport, a group of Chinese people saw me and said: ‘Oh, the wicked mother is here.’ Tapos nagpa-picture with me. E, hindi ako basta makapag-commit kasi everyone is busy with their respective businesses lalo si Raymond na very successful sa businesses niya ngayon. So they keep asking me, are you still interested? So finally, heto nakapag-shoot na kami ng seven episodes and three more to go na lang to complete the fourth season. Abangan nyo kasi naiiba ito. Before, we were on a cruise so lagi kaming magkakasama. This time, dahil sobrang busy ng bawat isa, we’ll be shown doing our own businesses and it will also focus a lot sa mga apo ko, sina Lorraine and Venice na anak ni Ruffa, si Baby Zion na anak ni Richard at si Baby Aria na anak ni Elvis.
