Yen (full name is Lilieyen) was discovered through “Pinoy Big Brother: Teen Clash 2010” where James Reid won. Born on Nov. 20, 1992 in Cabanatuan City, she joined PBB as one of the teen housemates. “Para maging in, napabarkada ako noong high school sa isang grupong nagka-cut classes at pinatawag ang parents ko sa school,” she says. “My mom said sumali na lang ako sa PBB. Ayoko sana kasi sobrang mahiyain ako noon, pero mapilit siya, so pinagbigyan ko. Sabi ko, wag siyang madi-disappoint kapag di ako nakuha. We went to Tarlac para mag-audition. First time ko mag-try sa ganun. Akala ko, di ako nakuha, then they told me to go to Baguio for the second screening. Ayun, nag-qualify ako. Umabot ang stay ko sa loob ng bahay ni Kuya for one and a half months. After that, I thought back to normal na ang buhay ko, pero pinatawag ako ng ABS at isinali sa ‘Good Vibes’, my first regular show. Tapos, pinag-attend na ako ng acting workshops ng Star Magic.”
She then appeared in several episodes of MMK and Wansapanataym, and did supporting roles in shows like Growing Up, Ikaw ang Pag-ibig, E-boy, Okatokat, Dugong Buhay. Her big break came in “Pure Love" in 2014 where she played a lead role, along with Alex Gonzaga. This was followed by “Dream Dad” and in last year’s “All of Me” where she met Director Dondon Santos who has now cast her in the lead role of Regal’s “Once in A Lifetime: Northern Lights” opposite Piolo Pascual, filmed in New Zealand.
She has also started taping for a new soap, “Because You Loved Me”, where she’s paired with Gerald Anderson and Jake Cuenca, shot on location in Mindoro, with Dan Villegas as director. “Hindi pa tapos ang movie with Piolo, may remaining scenes pa kami to be shot here in Manila. Hindi pa rin tapos yung bagong soap and I don’t know when we’ll resume taping kasi naging busy si Direk Dan in co-directing the new JaDine soap.”
