Sylvia Sanchez' Tearjerker, 'The Greatest Love', Finally Being Aired To Replace 'Tubig At Langis'

THE PRESSCON for “The Greatest Love” was held two months ago, but after that, nothing was heard about it. We thought it would replace “We Will Survive” but it turned out that “Minute to Win” was the one that replaced it and “The Greatest Love” was shelved for a while. “After nung presscon, hindi naman kami nakapag-taping,” says Arron Villaflor when we bumped into him.

But now, it’s finally being aired as replacement for “Tubig at Langin” in the afternoon slot. We’re happy for Sylvia Sanchez who plays the lead role of the mother, Gloria, who gets afflicted with Alzheimer’s disease at the age of 59. This is her first lead role and we’re sure she’ll be good in it. “Mabigat yung role at maraming mahihirap na eksena,” says Sylvia. “Binabasa ko pa lang ang script, naiiyak na ako.”

Playing her four children in the story are Dimples Romana as the eldest and rebellious Amanda, Matt Evan as the gay Andrei, Arron as the musician Paeng and Andi Eigenmann as the caring youngest child, Lizelle. Also in the show is Joshua Garcia as the son of Dimples and Sylvia’s protective grandchild.

Ricky Lee is the show’s creative consultant and also in the cast are Rommel Padilla, Tonton Gutierrez, Nonie Buencamino, Bobby Andrews, Alex Medina, Mercedes Cabral, Junjun Quintana, plus Ejay Falcon and Ellen Adarna in special guest roles, directed by Jeffrey Jeturian and Dado Lumibao.
