NATHALIE HART’s launching film, “Siphayo”, didn’t open in theatres last Wednesday as previously announced. BG Productions, its producer, felt they were given only a very few theaters so they decided to shelve its playdate.
“Sayang naman kasi puro magaganda ang feedback after our premiere night and Nathalie gave her all to the movie,” says line producer Dennis Evangelista. “Tapos, kung maghahanap ang mga tao ng sinehan, kakaunti lang ang available. So we chose to postpone it to a later playdate kapag mabibigyan na nila kami ng more theaters.”
Good luck. But we guess they would have to wait for a while since big local films with bigger stars are opening in the next few weeks. Star Cinema’s “The Third Party” starts showing on October 12, followed by Viva’s “Bakit Lahat ng Guwapo, May Boyfriend” on October 19, both of which are rom-coms on gay relationships. Tom Hanks’ “Inferno”, sequel to “Da Vinci Code” and “Angels and Demons”, will also open on October 12.
