“It was Radio Veritas who first invited me,” he says. “At first, ayoko, kasi nasa pelikula ako noon. Then napilit ako and I did the showbiz news sa show ni Rey Langit. At yun, nagtuloy-tuloy na ako sa radyo.”
He’s now hosting “Chachahin Mo Baby” on DZRJ 810AM and 8Trimedia.com Monday to Friday, 4 to 5 PM. He joins the other seasoned anchors of DZRJ like Gani Oro, Neil Ocampo and Gen. Samuel Pagdilao. “We’re a family here and we’re ready to compete head on with the other networks,” he adds. “Puro de kalidad ang shows namin.”
He looks so much like the dad of Alden Richards. Is he still willing to go back to acting and do father roles? “Oo naman. Diyan ako nanggaling and I wouldn’t be where I am now in broadcasting kundi dahil sa showbiz roots ko. Yes, I’m willing to do father roles, kahit na grandfather roles pa.”
Gen. Samuel Pagdilao, Jr. or Sir Tsip was a former PNP Chief and was also a congressman from 2013 to 2016. Born in Cotabato on February 13, 1957, he grew up in Gen. San. He was a college freshman at MAPUA then he was accepted at the Philippine Military Academy where he graduated in 1979 with the Matapat class. He later took up law at UST then public administration at MLQU.He’s married to Roselia Pano and they have 5 kids, the eldest is already 32 and the youngest is 13. “Wala pang nag-aasawa kaya wala pa kaming apo,” he says.
He used to be the PNP spokesman and also hosted some shows so he’s at home as anchor of his own show, “Sir Tsip, Reporting for Duty”, aired on DZRJ on M-W-F, 5 to 6 PM. It will feature discussions and commentaries on the hottest current events and political issues of the day.
