Metro Filmfest Rejected Entries To Be Shown Before The Festival, Led By 'The Super Parental Guardians' On November 30

THE BIG RELEASES not accepted by the Metro Filmfest screening committee will now be released before the festival. Star Cinema is releasing its Vice Ganda-Coco Martin rejected entry, “The Super Parental Guardians”, on November 30. This is directed by Joyce Bernal, with Coco playing a gang leader raising his orphaned nephews with the help of Vice, his sister Matet de Leon’s gay best friend who has the hots for Coco.

Introducing in the movie are child actors Awra Briguela and Onyok Pineda who became breakout stars this year for their exposure in Coco’s “Ang Probinsyano”. Will “The Super Parental Guardians” earn as much as money as their last movie together, “Beauty and the Bestie”, that allegedly raked in more than P500 million at the box office? Well, the biggest factor why it made money then was it’s an entry in the festival that coincides with the Christmas season, whereas their new movie is being released outside of the annual festival.

The Vice-Coco movie will be followed by Vic Sotto’s would be festival entry, “Enteng Kabisote 10 and the Abangers” on December 7. And on December 14, Regal’s entry, “Mano Po 7: Chinoy” will be released. This stars Richard Yap, Jean Garcia, Enchong Dee, Jessy Mendiola, Jake Cuenca, Janella Salvador and Marlo Mortel, partly filmed in Taiwan and directed by Ian Lorenos. This will be tough for Regal as they’ll be up against the opening of the latest “Star Wars” franchise, “Rogue One”.
