Sharon Cuneta Will Do Her First Indie Movie In The Cinemalaya 2017 Entry 'Ang Pamilyang Hindi Lumuluha'

THE CINEMALAYA FILMFEST last August produced one of the local best films shown this year: “Pamilya Ordinaryo”. It just won awards in the recently concluded Hanoi International Filmfest, best actress for Hasmine Killip as a teenage mom whose baby is kidnapped and best actor for Eduardo Roy.

This early, we know of some entries in the Cinemalaya next year that have already started filming. First is “Requited” by Nerissa Picadizo, starring Jake Cuenca and Anna Luna. Then there’s “Ang Guro Kong Di Marunong Magbasa” with Alfred Vargas and child stars Justin Alvarez and Miggs Cuaderno, directed by Perry Escano.

Jake and Alfred are co-producing their respective movies. And we heard the Megastar Sharon Cuneta is following in their footsteps. She has given her nod to do her first indie movie, “Ang Pamilyang Hindi Lumuluha”, also a Cinemalaya entry to be directed Mes de Guzman who did the award-winning “Ang Daan Patungong Kalimugtong” and helmed Nora Aunor in “Ang Kuwento ni Mabuti”. Sharon has expressed her desire to get Gerald Anderson to play her son in the film.

Let’s see if ABS-CBN would give their permission to Gerald to do an indie film, considering he’s busy with his new soap reuniting him with ex-GF Kim Chiu. Sharon is also scheduled to do a mainstream movie with Star Cinema next year, but they’re still fixing the script.
