SEASONED ANCHORS Neil Ocampo and Gani Oro are two of the broadcasters who have joined DZRJ 810AM, also seen on Cablelink Channel 7 and on live streaming at 8Trimedia.com. Neil started his career on radio in 1980 at DZXL while still an engineering student at FEATI. He then worked with DZMM then moved to DZRH and also Radyo Singko. He is a man of many voices and is best known for his funny alter egos that give their own piece of mind in his radio shows. On DZRJ, his show is now titled “Todo Arangkada Balita”, a combination of the titles of his past shows.
“Ibang-iba ito sa iba in many aspects,” he says. “Unang-una, ibabalik ko ang characters na kinagiliwan ng pakinggan ng listeners ko, sina Jejemon Tonyo, Tongressman Atras Abante, Pareng Erap, plus two new ones, Dugong Diokterte na jokes ang sinasabi pero malalim ang mensahe. Then there’s Gen. Bato-Bato Pick na crimefighter. All the characters will deliver news at ang approach namin sa public service, pupuntahan namin ang mismong source ng balita at agad mararamdaman ang resulta as we show how government agencies actually operate. Mapapakinggan kami ngayon Monday to Friday, 8 to 10 AM, but by next month, ililipat kami sa 6 to 8 PM para makipagsabayan kina Noli de Castro and Mike Enriquez.”
Gani Oro was born in Santiago, Isabela on November 11, 1954 (Happy birthday, malapit na). He has worked with various networks, hosting “Balitang-Balita” on TV5, then “Teledyaryo” on PTV4 with Chino Trinidad, “Aksyon Oro Mismo” at Super Radio DZBB and doing “Serbisyo All Access” on CNN Channel 9 with Amelyn Veloso, a public service show that’s a one stop shop for complaints, queries and feedback from the public government agencies and other organizations through their action center. His show on DZRJ is “Oro Mismo”, heard and seen from Monday to Friday, 3 to 4 PM. Here’s wishing his and Neil’s shows will soon be top raters on the airlanes.
