“My life is an open book,” he says. “Hindi ko naman itinatago na I made mistakes in the past. Bata pa ako noon, medyo mapusok at iba pa ang takbo ng pag-iisip. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak. Sa pagsunod mo sa kagustuhan ng katawan mo, I didn’t realize na may mga nasasaktan pala akong mga tao. But that is all in the past and I have since made amends. I've realized my mistakes at hindi ako dapat tularan.”
Someone quips all his kids are girls and are “pambayad utang” for his misdemeanors. “Huwag naman. Unfair naman na may masamang mangyari sa mga anak kong babae. At this point in my life, mas concerned na talaga ako sa magiging future ng mga anak ko kaysa sa sarili ko. And I’m glad na okay naman ang relationship ko with KC, with Garrie, and now also with Chloie who I finally met.”
What can he say about KC’s current beau, Aly Borromeo? “He’s a good boy, a gentleman, very nice and soft spoken. Sa nakikita ko, okay naman sila ni KC. Bagay sila and I like him for her. But we don’t know if they would really end up together in the future. I will be happy to support kung anuman ang magiging decision nila.”
How does he feel making love to women who are younger than his daughters, like Ryza Cenon, who’s 28 while KC is already 31? “Lagi kong iniisip, trabaho lang ito. And also, sa utak ko, ang mga anak ko, ten years old pa rin sila, mga babies ko pa rin sila. Ryza and I are both professionals. We just did what the script requires from us.”
