Congrats To 'Unang Hirit' As It Celebrates Its 17th Anniversary As The Country's Longest Running And Highest Rating Morning Show

‘UNANG HIRIT’ is currently celebrating its 17th year on the air as the country’s longest running and highest rating morning show. The show is hosted by very capable people who regard themselves not just as co-workers but as family members who supply the viewers every morning with the latest info about the weather, give them the latest breaking news and other special features that keep them not only well informed but also highly entertained.

The hosts who have great rapport with each other are Arnold Clavio, Suzi Entrata-Abrera, Lyn Ching-Pascual, Rhea Santos, Lhar Santiago, Love Añover-Llanko, Susan Enriquez, Connie Sison, Ivan Mayrina and Luane Dy. Assisting them are Nathaniel “Mang Tani” Cruz for the weather report, Atty. Gaby Concepcion, Mareng Winnie Monsod, Regine Tolentino, Juancho Triviño and Hiro Peralta.

What do they think is the show’s secret for being so durable on the air? “I think mainly it’s the great bonding we all have, on and off cam,” says Arnold Clavio. “We treat each other as second family and doing the show together every day does not feel like work anymore. Ang saya kayang pumasok every morning in a show na laging masaya ang samahan at nagkakasundo kayong lahat.”

They also go out as a barkada, playing bowling after the show, going shopping, having coffee, videoke sessions, eating out, and having parties in each other’s homes with their respective families tagging along.

“Unang Hirit” not only dominates the ratings game but has also earned the nod of various award-giving bodies as the best morning show and having the best morning show hosts. They say it’s all a group effort and it encourages them to work harder and always give their best each morning.

To celebrate its 17th anniversary, they went around the country to spread the Magic of Pasko from Baguio and Luneta to Cebu and Davao. packages. The hosts also treated a hard-working panadero or baker from Barangay Dolores, Taytay, Rizal. Sonny Magpantay, who has been a baker for 20 years, was given his very own bakery. As “Unang Hirit” starts another chapter this year, viewers can expect that the UH barkada will continue to be our special ray of sunshine — bringing us greater mornings to start the day right and inspire us throughout the day.
