JULIE ANNE SAN JOSE is asked if it’s true that Benjamin Alves is frequently seen in their home. “Yes, I’ve introduced him to my whole family at tanggap naman siya ng parents ko,” she says. “So he’s welcome to visit me anytime. Sa totoo lang, mas gusto ko yung nasa bahay lang kami kasi mas tahimik. We do go out on dates but mas madalas talaga, we just stay at my home. Kasi mas may privacy, mas nakakapagkuwentuhan kami nang maayos.”
How about her, has she been introduced by Benjamin to his own folks? “His family is based in Guam so hindi pa. But I’ve talked to them over Skype, not yet in person. Sabi ni Benj, isu-surprise na lang niya ang meeting ng namin ng parents niya. When Benj went home to Guam last Christmas, nagpadala ako ng present sa kanila.”
What qualities of Benj endear him to her? “Una sa lahat, yung kanyang pagiging God-fearing, kasi
importante sa’kin yung faith mo kay Lord. Mabait din talaga kasi siya, very thoughtful.”
Now that they’ve become a love team, does she think their tandem in “Pinulot Ka Lang sa Lupa” will make them as popular as other love teams today? “Well, we’re hoping na magustuhan sana talaga ng tao ang tambalan namin. No doubt naman na talagang magugustuhan nila ang show. The story is very engrossing from the time na mga bata pa kami hanggang sa lumaki kami nin Benj at si LJ Reyes. Our director, Gina Alajar, is also making sure na bawat episode, maging maganda talaga and worth seeing para sure na hindi bumitaw ang viewers sa panonood nito.”
“Pinulot Ka Lang sa Lupa” will start airing tomorrow right after “Hahamakin ang Lahat”.
