“I really want to thank GMA-7 for giving me this project,” she says. “It’s a great acting opportunity kasi puro magagaling ang mga kasama ko and I get to be directed by a great actress herself, Gina Alajar.”
And she is paired with her own inamorato, Benjamin Alves. Is it true they’ve been officially for four months now? It’s the other members who cast who chorused with a big “YES!”
It’s Benjamin who replies: “Wala naman kaming itinatago. What you see is what you get. Basta maganda ang pasok ng 2017 sa amin kasi magkasama kami sa show and we’re happy to be working together.”
In the TV version of “Pinulot Ka Lang sa Lupa”, Jean Garcia is married to Victor Neri but when their daughter dies in a fire caused by Allan Paule, Victor leaves her with their son Ephraim (who’ll grow up to be Benjamin Alves). She puts up a small carinderia that succeeds and becomes a big restaurant. She takes two girls under her wing, Santina (who becomes Julie Anne San Jose), the daughter of Allan Paule, and Angeli (who becomes LJ Reyes), the daughter of Ara Mina who’s estranged from her own mom. Eventually, Julie and LJ become bitter rivals for the attention of Jean and the affection of Benjamin. Also in the cast are Geleen Eugenio as Jean’s confidante, Yoleng; Janna Dominguez as a former Japayuki who oppresses Julie and Lharby Policarpio as Benjamin’s friend, Boggs.
