LIZA SOBERANO and Enrique Gil are back in each other’s arms in Star Cinema’s special Valentine presentation that opens on February 15, “My Ex and Why’s”, directed by box office hitmaker Cathy Garcia Molina. The LizQuen love team has had two hit TV shows, “Forevermore” and “Dolce Amore”, and two hit movies, “Just the Way You Are” directed by Ted Boborol and “Everyday I Love You” directed by Mae Cruz Alviar.
In “My Ex and Whys”, Liza plays a blogger called Calli and the title of her blog is The Bakit List. When the story starts, she has already broken up with her boyfriend, Gio (Enrique.) It was a bad breakup as Calli is bitter and so mad at Gio for two-timing her. They’re not at all on speaking terms, but they meet again when they are coerced to work together on one project as online endorsers.
The movie is partly shot on location in Korea. This is because one character, played by Ryan Bang, is their mutual friend and when Ryan is about to have his wedding in his native Korea, he gives Liza and Enrique a plane ticket each so they can attend his wedding. While together in a foreign land, the former lovers get to re-evaluate their feelings for each other and can’t help it but become close again.
Will love be really lovelier the second time around? That’s the movie’s romantic premise. And both Liza and Enrique that this is a much more romantic and involving movie than anything they’ve done before. “Mas maraming kilig moments and mas maraming hugot lines,” they say.
