Enrique Gil On The Real Score About Him And Liza Soberano, Liza As Alter Ego Of Direk Cathy Molina Garcia In 'My Ex And Whys'

ENRIQUE GIL IS ASKED what’s the real status now of his relationship with Liza Soberano, “Actually, we’re secret lovers,” he jokes. “Basta masaya po kami. She’s only 19, I’m 24, kapag hindi pa puede, respeto muna. Pero nagkakasundo talaga kami as special friends.”

Do they have misunderstandings? “We do. Normal naman yun. Kapag walang nagiging problema, dun ka matakot. Basta I assure her, no matter what happens, I’ll always be by her side.”

Does he expect they’ll eventually end up with each other?

Why is the title of their new movie “My Ex and Whys”? It’s Director Cathy Molina Garcia who
Bakit? Bakit mo ako niloko? Bakit mo ako ipinagpalit? Kaya ‘My Ex and Whys’.”

It seems that Direk Cathy, a widow, has been deceived by her new boyfriend and she put all the bitter sentiments she experienced in the movie through the character of Liza as Cali, who was earlier dumped by Enrique as Gio, for someone else. “Yung mga pinagawa ko kay Liza rito, hindi pa niya nae-experience in real life. She’s 19 playing a 24-year old character at di pa niya napagdaanan yung emotions of pain and regret that she portrayed in the movie. Actually, akong nagda-dialogue noon, e. Ang sagot, oo. Charot!”

It seems Liza is her alter ego in the movie. “I’m growing, I’m evolving as a person, also as a filmmaker. I have a different take now on love talaga. We all grow as people nang di mo sinasadya.”

“My Ex and Whys” opens in theaters on February 15.
