“I’m just very happy to be part of our movie,” says Maja. “It’s about the joys and pains of love kaya bagay talaga sa Valentine’s Day. Maganda ang movie namin, I’m very proud of it, and it will show na hindi lang Star Cinema ang gumagawa ng magagandang pelikula.”
“Let’s just be glad na maraming local movies being produced now, kahit mainstream man or indie,” says Paulo. “It means more jobs are being given to more people. I think our movie can stand on its own and let’s just pray na sana, panoorin ng tao ang both movies.”
Paulo says when the script of the movie was sent to him, he read it right away and liked it. “I like my role as Dio, an aspiring filmmaker and singer. I liked the songs chosen to be part of the film, kasi the lyrics of the songs were written into the script. Also, I’ve worked with our director here, JP Habac, when he was still an assistant director in ‘Heneral Luna’ and ‘Sana Dati’, so I now want to be a part of his first full length directorial job. I recommended Maja to be the leading lady kasi we’ve worked on TV in ‘Bridges of Love’ but on film, hindi pa kami nagkatambal, although we made a movie together, ‘Status: It’s Complicated’, but I was paired with Solenn Heussaff and she’s paired naman with Jake Cuenca. Ngayon, kami na talaga ang magkapareha.”
Maja also fell in love with her role as Carson. “Si Carson is secretly in love with Dio, her college best friend, for seven years na. But she can’t verbalize her feelings for her. I’m sure maraming makaka-relate dito kasi marami namang nai-in love na hindi ma-express ang sarili nila.”
Both Paulo and Maja sing their own songs in the movie. Paulo sings “Lloydie” (where John Lloyd Cruz appears in a cameo) while Maja sings “Huling Gabi”. “I’m Drunk, I Love You” is produced by TBA: Tuko Films, Buchi Boy and Artikulo Uno, which gave us the award-winning hit, “Heneral Luna”, and the Metro Filmfest best film, “Sunday Beauty Queen”. They are now filming “Heneral Goyong” (about Gen. Gregorio del Pilar) starring Paulo, ther crime drama “Smaller and Smaller Circles” with Sid Lucero and Nonie Buencamino, and a new yet untitled suspense thriller by Jerrold Tarog starring Iza Calzado.
