WE DON’T KNOW why Pres. Duterte and his son Baste won’t just talk to each other directly and not just communicate through media and social media. In one of his public talks, the president mentioned that Baste should be a more responsible father. He added that he’s sad that Baste has not been seen his son with model Kate Necessario because he spends more time with girlfriend Ellen Adarna. “Umuwi ka na, kasi yung anak mo, hindi ka na kilala,” he even quipped. “Ang love lang, yung mama niya.”
Baste then answered in his Facebook account that he has broken up with Ellen in December yet and added “Chill lang, Pa”. He later said that he has since gone home to Kate and their son last February 1. But in his more recent speech about the BIR tax campaign, the president again took potshots on Baste and repeated that he feels hurt for his grandson. “Siempre, apo ko yan,” he added. He even squilled on Kris Aquino texting him “huwag mo namang ipakulong si Noynoy” because of the Mamasapano incident.
Maybe, he didn’t get to read Baste’s post on social media so he called his son’s attention again in public. Baste then posted: “Pa, Tama na, please.” Even adding that his dad should just go after comedian Chokoleit who had an icky kiss scandal on social media. But don’t father and son have cell phones where they can call each other directly and talk more intimately rather than coursing what they feel through Facebook and public speeches? Unless they deliberately want to display their dirty linen in public and be talked about for their indiscretions.
