ANC, The ABS-CBN News Channel, Introduces Their New Shows Topbilled By 'Early Edition' Featuring International Anchor Annalisa Burgos

ANC, THE ABS-CBN News Channel, had a special presscon to launch their new shows headlined by “Early Edition”, their new morning show, and primetime newscast, “The Bureau”. Also officially introduced to the press is international anchor Annalisa Burgos, who anchors “Early Edition” with TJ Manotoc, plus Paolo Abrera, Michelle Ong and Christian Esguerra.

Annalisa has impressive credentials. Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, she has degrees in communications and English at UCLA, and immediately worked with Dallas Morning News and the Orange County Register. She also has a master’s degree in broadcasting from Columbia’s Graduate School of Journalism and did field reporting for Forbes.com and CNBC.com. She then worked with Scripps Networks as senior editor then as independent writer and video host with The Wall Street Journal, Yahoo, Food Network, Bloomberg TV and India’s UTV.

Considering her impressive credentials abroad, what convinced her to move to Manila and ANC? “It’s not a hard decision to make as I felt now is a good time to stay in Asia which is currently a hotbed of important news,” she says. “ANC is also the place to work in when it comes to journalism as the learning curve is really high. I admire the company’s journalistic reputation and commitment in informing Filipino immigrants around the world. I’m honored to be part of this tradition. It’s also nice to be in a place where the press is highly valued.”

Ms. Burgos is married with two kids and she’s thankful that her husband is very supportive of her career. She has a naturally bubbly and perky personality we tell her she’ll also be a good for “Saturday Night Live”. Co-hosts Paolo Abrera says of her: “With Annaliza, we don’t need coffee in the morning as she has a very contagious personality.”

“Early Edition” delivers the latest local and global news, financial updates and breaking reports starting 5:30 AM, weekdays. We’ll tell you more about the other exciting new ANC shows next time.
