ADDY RAJ didn’t know being a virgin is such a big issue here. When we last visited the set of “Meant to Be”, he was asked if he’s still a virgin and he said yes. It got written and talked about and a lot of people reacted to it.
“Some say they don’t believe it and some say they do and they offered to baptize me,” he laughs. “I don’t know how they got my number and it’s funny as some of them even said sila bahala sa akin, and they will teach me how to do things in bed.”
Doesn’t he have a girlfriend here? “None. No time to have a lovelife kasi we’re busy everyday. If we’re not taping, we do promo shows for ‘Meant to Be’. Kami nina Ken Chan, Ivan Dorschner and Jak Roberto, we have guested in almost all the shows sa GMA, including ‘Sunday PinaSaya’, ‘Mars’, ‘Taste Buddies’, ‘Tunay na Buhay’, ‘Unang Hirit’, ‘Full House Tonight’, ‘People Vs. the Stars’. Tapos we’re doing mall shows pa, not only in Manila but also the provinces.”
He’s thoroughly enjoying his stay here in Manila and he intends to live her for good. “Masaya kasi rito. And now, I’m busy with work and I get to go all over the country because of the regional mall shows we’re doing. I’m so glad nga I get to travel for free and it’s nice to be with a group like ours. Mas masaya kaysa kung mag-isa lang ako nagta-travel. It’s great to be part of a big hit like ‘Meant to Be’. Everywhere we go, they call me by name in the show, Jai.”
Is he following in the footsteps of the Indian actor who made it big in Hollywood is Dev Patel of "Slumdog Millionaire" and "Lion" for which he was just nominated as Oscar best supporting actor? "We both went to the same university in India, Delhi University in New Delhi. But he's much senior than I am. He's a very good actor and it's be nice if I could follow in his footsteps."
This week, “Meant to Be” will be focusing on the Addy-Barbie love team called by their fans as AddBie. “After the story focused on Barbie as Billie and first with Ivan as Ethan, then Jak as Andoy, this week, sa amin namang dalawa ang focus. Si Jai, my character, is the playboy in the group, but he has realized na may feelings talaga siya for Billie. So let’s see what will happen.”
